Josef Fares Honored as Digital Influencer of the Year
The award for Digital Influencer of the Year is annually presented to an individual who, through digital means, has demonstrated significant entrepreneurship, commitment, and has admirably left a mark in the digital sphere. On Saturday evening, Josef Fares was bestowed with this prestigious accolade at Blåhallen in Stockholm City Hall.
Josef Fares transitioned from developing his first video game, “Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons,” in collaboration with Starbreeze in 2013 to founding the game studio Hazelight in 2014. Their debut game, “A Way Out,” was released in 2018 and sold a million copies within its first three weeks.
Josef Fares is undeniably a respected figure within the gaming industry and, in 2021, received the Game of the Year award at The Game Awards, the world’s largest gaming gala, for his game “It Takes Two”. With his unending successes in the gaming world, he serves as an important role model for future developers. Therefore, he was honored with the Digital Influencer of the Year 2023 award, with the motivation:
