Leadership beyond the job title
Julia’s appointment as COO in August formally recognised responsibilities she had already taken on as Consid Poland developed, rather than marking a fundamental change in her role.
Today, she works across operations, recruitment, delivery and business development, remaining actively involved in commercial discussions, RFPs, client workshops and building technology teams.
“I enjoy having a strategic influence on where we’re heading as an organisation while staying close to the business itself. Working with clients, developing opportunities and seeing them turn into successful partnerships is what genuinely motivates me.”
Her colleagues describe her as driven, reliable and approachable, although some have offered more creative descriptions, including “human multitasking machine” and “masters the chaos.”
For Julia, leadership means combining high standards and accountability with trust, transparency and the freedom for others to take ownership.
“I don’t believe leadership is about having all the answers. It’s about bringing clarity when things get complicated, making decisions when needed and creating an environment where people can succeed.”
Connecting markets, creating opportunities
Looking ahead, Julia wants to strengthen Consid’s position as a recognised technology and consulting partner in Poland while developing closer collaboration across its international offices.
She sees significant potential in connecting regional sales teams, building on existing international client relationships and expanding those partnerships into the Polish market.
“We already have fantastic expertise and client relationships across Consid. I believe there’s enormous opportunity in connecting our capabilities more closely and creating new business opportunities together, both internationally and locally.”
With a growing focus on local business development, Julia is particularly encouraged by Consid’s increasing visibility in the Polish market.
Equally important is creating a workplace where employees and consultants feel valued, can develop and take pride in what they’re building. One personal ambition is to see Consid grow into its own dedicated office in the Tri-City area.
Her perspective on AI reflects the same balance between ambition and practical business thinking.
“There’s enormous potential in AI, but I sometimes feel organisations rush into implementation without considering whether their people, processes or business models are ready. Technology should solve real problems and create measurable value, not simply introduce additional complexity or costs.”
Ultimately, Julia’s ambition is to help build a business that’s well connected internationally, recognised locally and a place where people genuinely want to work.
Always exploring
Outside work, Julia enjoys travelling, discovering different cultures and exploring new places. Running offers another kind of challenge, whether preparing for a half marathon or simply clearing her head after a busy week.
More recently, she’s also earned her Open Water Diver certification and developed a passion for scuba diving.
“Travelling, running and diving all encourage me to step outside my comfort zone and discover something new. I think that’s probably what connects my professional and personal life: I enjoy a good challenge, and I’m always curious about what comes next.”
