Modernising software solutions

Daniel Jensen joined Consid in Copenhagen in 2023 and today works as a Senior Software Developer and Consultant Manager, with responsibility for three colleagues. He has more than 20 years of experience in the tech industry and has worked with a wide range of technologies.

– Though I have a soft spot for .NET on the backend and Vue.js on the frontend, Daniel says with a smile.

When asked about the benefits of using .NET in modern development, Daniel explains that it is a high-performance technology with strong tooling, a solid ecosystem, and excellent support for building scalable, reliable solutions.

– And Vue.js is lightweight, intuitive, and fast to work with. It provides flexibility without unnecessary complexity.

Daniel’s current assignment at Consid is with STAR (Styrelsen for Arbejdsmarked og Rekruttering) in Denmark.

– My focus is on modernising their software solutions to use cloud-native technologies such as Kubernetes and the ELK stack.

What made him choose Consid as an employer in 2023, and every day since, was the strong professional culture, the focus on quality and the strong sense of community.

A career built on curiosity and commitment

Daniel began his career in traditional software development and has, since then, worked with many different technologies across several companies. Over time, his dedication and engagement led to senior responsibilities and mentoring roles: something that has strengthened his ability to build strong relationships.

– I believe the key to building strong relationships is clear communication, aligned expectations, and a genuine interest in people. The biggest challenge is maintaining that consistency when time is limited.

Decision-making and problem-solving are also central parts of Daniel’s work.

– My approach to solving problems is structured yet exploratory. I focus on understanding the problem thoroughly, choosing a pragmatic solution, and iterating based on the results.

Navigating a rapidly evolving tech landscape

The tech industry is constantly evolving, with new technologies emerging all the time, not least artificial intelligence.

– AI can significantly boost productivity when used as a supportive tool rather than a replacement for engineering knowledge, he says.

Looking ahead, Daniel is confident that AI and automation will play an even greater role, and that cloud-native architectures will continue to shape how systems are built.

– It is a very exciting time, especially seeing how machine learning and code-generation tools are transforming development workflows.

To stay up to date with the latest trends and technologies, he follows tech communities, attends events and conferences, and experiments with new ideas through small proof-of-concepts.
