<h2>The challenge</h2>
<p>EfD is a value-creating organization with an important purpose. Here at Consid, we can really benefit and make an impact by helping with the digital challenges. The organization is committed to the environment and wants to create a sustainable approach to the environment, worldwide. That is a big responsibility. We at Consid are therefore very happy that we were entrusted to help EfD.</p>
<p>The mission included developing a new website in English that provides decision-makers, researchers and the general public with easy access to the latest research results on the application of the environmental economy to sustainable development in the global south, ie non-OECD countries. The website as it was before Consid came into the picture was of an older model and had great potential for improvement. EfD therefore wanted a new concept with new design as well as improved functionality and new functions.</p>
<p>There were many challenges with this project. The organization includes a large publication database with a large number of researchers who are affiliated with the organization. Each center therefore has its own researchers whose research can be published by the center&#8217;s communicators. The collaboration also takes place between a large number of universities around the world. This includes many languages, cultures and centers that should be able to collaborate on the web. The site will function as a platform for researchers to be able to publish their writings and articles on and where politicians in their home countries will be able to obtain relevant information.</p>
<p>Additional challenges with this project also included the meetings that were arranged between many parties from several places around the world, and that these were mainly arranged through digital meetings due to. pandemic. We also needed to clean up EfD&#8217;s data that was on the existing web, as there were a lot of duplicates of publications.</p>
<p>&#8211; The research available at EfD means that countries can be lifted out of poverty. It therefore naturally feels great to be involved in developing this website, says Mattias Andersson, developer at Consid.</p>
<h2></h2>
<h2>The solution</h2>
<p>The existing platform was to be further developed and here Consid got free hands around the design. The customer had already chosen to invest in Drupal CMS. Their old website was built in Drupal. We therefore made a migration to Drupal 8 from Drupal 7. A new design of responsive theme was developed and we cleared away old data, and did a re-design of the menu. Previously, the editors created the menu manually, now it happens automatically instead. We also produced a clickable organogram. As there are many developing countries that are connected to the web, great emphasis was placed on optimization, so that it works quickly. Here we saw e.g. to the fact that the pictures on the web were not too big.</p>
<p>What is unique about this website is how we designed the In Site solution. The web has a completely new graphic profile and design and the landing pages are built completely dynamically. You can thus create a new center and then include the submenu automatically &#8211; something that did not exist before. There were also previous restrictions in the navigation due to the menu and there was a lack of a homogeneous presentation of all centers as all center pages looked a little different. The whole web was simply in need of elaboration.</p>
<p>We also produced overview pages where you can now go into the UN&#8217;s sustainability goals and filter to get to a specific goal. The entire publication page was redone as well. EfD is also investing more and more in larger research programs with participants from several centers. &#8220;Programs&#8221; in the menu did not exist before but were now developed with the same functionality as for the center and you can take part in publications, news and researchers. Here we also developed the personal register in a completely new way, with new design, architecture and filtering so that you can easily access everyone who belongs to a certain center or program. Now there are simply all publications in one place where you can filter by, for example, author or category. Each researcher can also be found under their own page where you can download their publication. Under &#8220;Topics&#8221; you can read about different research areas and click on to each page. There you can take part in publications under each area such as education, water, energy and air quality.</p>
<p>EfD has a large number of videos on its Youtube channel. These videos are now also available to watch on the web.</p>
<p>&#8211; I’m so impressed with Consid’s professionalism, good cheer and skill throughout this complex project. I&#8217;ve worked on a number of these projects before, and the people I’ve collaborated with at Consid are at the top of people I&#8217;ve worked with. <h2>The result</h2>
<p>The result is an improved and more developed web. With new features for improved functionality and easy access are now available:</p>
<ul>
<li>Look Ahead Navigation that reduces the number of user clicks to navigate the site.</li>
<li>Product filters that enable users to quickly narrow down the portfolio of research publications.</li>
<li>Responsive design that allows the website to be compatible with all browsers and mobile devices.</li>
</ul>
<p>Now EfD has a foundation that they can develop further, as the platform is dynamically developed. In addition, it now has a completely new, fresh and graphically appealing design adapted to all operating countries.</p>
<p>&#8211; We are very proud to be able to launch our new EfD website. We know that there is a serious lack of robust data and research that is necessary for the green transitions required for sustainable development in Africa, Asia and Latin America. This new website gives us an opportunity to showcase our research and our collaboration programs that contribute to evidence-based policies for poverty reduction and sustainable development. We hope that academics, civil servants, decision-makers and the general public will find this information useful in their work towards a sustainable future, says Gunnar Köhlin, head of EfD.</p>
<p>Before the launch in the summer of 2020, we arranged training sessions for the editors. Consid&#8217;s Mattias Andersson trained about 40 editors in how to use the web.</p>
<p>&#8211; This has been a fun and rewarding project. It feels good that we can make use of the opportunities of the digital world &#8211; and for such an important purpose, says Pär Svensén, customer manager at Consid.</p>

<h2>About EfD</h2>
<p>EfD is an environmental economic organization that is coordinated from the Gothenburg School of Economics. Environment for Development (EfD) was founded in 2007 and is a global network of environmental economic research centers focusing on environmental and development challenges in developing countries. Today, the network consists of over 200 skilled environmental economists with many different specializations. The network is coordinated by EfD Global Hub, which is located at the School of Business, University of Gothenburg. Financial support is provided primarily by Sida.</p>
<p>EfD&#8217;s centers are located at leading academic research institutions in the 13 countries of Chile, China, Colombia, Central America, Ethiopia, Ghana, India, Kenya, Nigeria, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda and Vietnam. EfD&#8217;s vision is to create inclusive sustainable development in the global south based on evidence-based management of the environment, natural resources and climate impact.</p>

<h3>Challenge</h3>
<p>Sweden is self-supporting when it comes to blood, but the distribution is sometimes uneven. This means that there is a risk of blood deficiency, often in bigger cities where the high specialized care is available. In the event of a shortage, the blood centers help each other. However, it requires a communication platform with high availability and cooperation.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span></p>
<p>We were asked to develop an intranet in SiteVision where all employees at Sweden’s blood centers could easily find information, collaborate and exchange experiences and knowledge. The intranet would also open up the opportunity for employees to see status of blood layers and making exchanging of blood bags possible.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span></p>
<h3>Solution</h3>
<p>We delivered a total solution; everything from idea and concept to design and finished product, but also project management support and training.</p>
<p>The solution was developed in SiteVision with Social Collaboration. Social Collaboration gives the blood centers a social intranet where they can create groups for collaboration and make knowledge exchanges. At the same time, SiteVision&#8217;s CMS functionality remains basic and is used to manage more traditional information on the intranet, such as news, information texts and manuals.</p>
<p>The intranet also has an integration that shows available blood supply in Sweden by blood group and it offers the opportunity to see the blood supply in a specific area.</p>
<p>With SiteVision&#8217;s standard functionality, we have also been able to build a solution that makes it possible to move blood to where it’s needed. The blood centers around the country can now easily say if they have a surplus or deficit of a blood group in order to keep a safe distribution across the country.</p>
<p>The entire intranet and its content are searchable via a powerful integrated search engine and are safely operated in SiteVision Cloud at two geographically separate data centers in Sweden with the highest level of security, 24/7 monitoring and incredible scalability.</p>
<h3>Result</h3>
<p>We delivered an intranet with a strong focus on simplicity and accessibility, which opens up new opportunities for knowledge exchange and collaboration as well as a better platform for communication and information.</p>
<p>The intranet has led to fewer phone calls and a more efficient way for employees at Sweden’s blood centers to communicate and cooperate with each other.</p>

Blodlänk wanted to facilitate cooperation between Sweden’s blood centers and blood stores. We got to work with Blodkommunikation Sverige and help them develop a new and social intranet.

Green-Cargo

<h3><strong>Challenge</strong></h3>
<p>At the start of the project we set an important goal; to simplify employees’ everyday lives with the help of a new intranet. The big challenge was getting the production staff set and making sure that the intranet’s functions would benefit them. This way, the staff doesn’t have to carry heavy binders in their bags to work. Everything had to be just a push on a button away, on a phone or on a tablet. Since 80 percent of Green Cargo’s employees do not have a permanent office space, the mobile aspect of the project was extremely important.</p>
<h3><strong>Mission</strong></h3>
<p>The mission was to create a communication hub where you gather everything in one place through an accessible intranet for all employees. They also wanted to create a natural connection to the other systems. We assisted in creating the overall structure and functionality of the graphic design, but built the new intranet in Sitevision together with Green Cargo.</p>
<h3><strong>Solution</strong></h3>
<p>The solution we delivered to Green Cargo had a great focus on mobility. Large parts of their employees use mobile units as their primary unit when visiting the intranet. Therefore, it was important that we thought about these users in the first place. Since many of Green Cargo’s employees can be in places with poor reception, we looked at how we could optimise both design and code to significantly reduce charging times. The home page and the intranet’s header are based on personalization, so that employees easily can access the tools or information they are looking for.</p>
<h3><strong>Result</strong></h3>
<p>The new platform offers opportunities for social groups. Instead of using e-mail, employees have started communicating with each other in different groups and are now sharing documents and different events quickly and easily in one place. Veronica Svahlin, Communicator at Green Cargo, comments the work and the positive result:</p>
<p>&#8211; We have had the privilege of working with an extremely competent team who has been responsive, committed and solution focused. We have talked about many different scenarios in order for us to achieve a good result and we are very satisfied with the end product.</p>
<p>Veronica continues:</p>
<p>&#8211; An important success factor, perhaps the most important, is that we set aside time for practical work and review of the new system together with the team at Consid. To be able to see the structure and how it would work in the long run, was comforting.</p>
<p>With the new platform, Green Cargo can now develop and integrate other solutions on the intranet to create an even better tool in the future.</p>

<h3><strong>About Green Cargo</strong></h3>
<p>Green Cargo is a Swedish logistics transport company owned by the Swedish state. With 1900 employees, 360 locomotives and 5000 wagons, Green Cargo contributes to the national environmental goals. Their transports are operated with low energy consumption or renewable energy. 94 percent is operated by electric train. Green Cargo transports both raw materials and processed products to industries both in Scandinavia and Europe.</p>

<p>MoA Learning Center is located all over Sweden and offers several different adult educations. These are high-quality educations that most often lead to jobs. But there is competition in the industry, and we only have a short time to reach out with our message to the target group. How do we best convey that an education at MoA is the safest way to make a dream come true?</p>

<h2>The solution</h2>
<p>If you dream of the best job for you, MoA can help you make your dream come true. &#8220;Between dream and reality&#8221; became the name of our campaign concept, where we in three short films showed how the step to the dream job is not far away if you choose an education at MoA.</p>

<h2>The challenge</h2>
<p>Bixia wants to offer its customers a new portal in the future with several smart functions to be able to buy and sell electricity in the best way. There was a need for a new internal system to handle business, as well as collect data to be able to further develop its analysis department.</p>
<p>Bixia already has an existing system solution that was considered to be not so sufficiently flexible and reliable for the future. Bixia faced major challenges in how to proceed. What functions were needed and can they be automated? How do customers want to work in the future, and how can Bixia meet its customers digitally in the future? These were questions that the company needed answered.</p>
<p>With this basis, the collaboration between Consid and Bixia started and the development of Bixia&#8217;s new modern and future-proof platform as well.</p>
<h3></h3>
<h2>The solution</h2>
<p>The assignment was initiated in April 2018 and was introduced with a workshop between the companies where we together came to a conclusion about what the business&#8217;s needs and requirements for future solutions needed to look like.</p>
<p>The project was then divided into several implementation stages to quickly generate business benefits, ROI (return of investment) and at the same time lay the foundation for a secure, integrated and scalable solution.</p>
<p>The solution is built in .NET Core and React and Azure has also been used for construction and release. The architecture is built according to micro service architecture. Throughout the work, the project has focused on building a secure solution. At the beginning of the project, automatic construction was set up to be able to support continuous release, to streamline and quality assure successive delivery.</p>
<h3></h3>
<h2>The result</h2>
<p>Bixia now has a new platform for calculating prices. Initially, Consid developed an internal system for handling order closures for Bixia&#8217;s trading desks. To give a good overview of the different parts of the system, there is now a dashboard.</p>
<p>Bixia&#8217;s previous system required several manual routines, which led to undesirable effects and inefficiencies, where a lot of time had to be spent on troubleshooting, which in turn contributed to even more manual work. Today&#8217;s solution is fully automated, which means great time savings, security and increased quality.</p>
<p>The solution also includes functions for external communication such as automatic email sending. The built-in authorization system, together with the platform&#8217;s ability for external communication, provides opportunities for Bixia to direct its communication to the right target groups. This has led to the platform now being better at supporting Bixia&#8217;s business both internally and in customer collaboration.</p>
<p>The project continues with new sub-projects where Consid will develop a new customer portal in the future.</p>

<h2>About Bixia</h2>
<p>Bixia take great part in the expansion of locally produced electricity from renewable energy sources by promoting local initiatives and investing in local producers. Bixia&#8217;s goal is to contribute to positive and green change and it mainly trades from small wind turbines in Skåne, Östergötland, Västergötland and on Öland.</p>
<p>Bixia trades without intermediaries and the money goes directly back to the producer, who can invest in more renewable electricity. Bixia is a direct player on the Nordic electricity exchange Nordpool, which creates a head start and a constant control of the electricity market.</p>
