Europe’s Top Esports Company to be Crowned: “Aiming to Win”

The start of the European Corporate Esports Championship (ECEC), in collaboration with Glitched, is fast approaching. The tournament, commencing on May 19, is open to professional gamers and amateurs across Europe, culminating in a grand finale at the Elmia Exhibition in Jönköping on June 14.

Since its inception, ECEC has attracted teams from companies all over Europe to compete for the title of Europe’s best esports company in Counter-Strike 2 or Rocket League. New this year is the inclusion of high school and university students, a move that has already garnered attention from the target audience.

– We have seen growing interest from students, and it feels great to open up the tournament to them. It’s a natural step towards making the competition even more inclusive and forward-looking, says Emilia Bentzer, project manager for ECEC at Consid.

One of the registered teams for this year’s gaming festival that is competing for the title of Europe’s best esports company in Counter-Strike 2, consists of Robert Johansson, Rasmus Söderström, Christian Anjemo, Amanda Jansson and Rasmus Eriksson.

– We are a team full of competitive individuals, and we all play a lot in our spare time. So when the opportunity to win the title of Europe’s best esports company arose, we had to jump on it, says Rasmus Söderström.

What do you think about your chances of winning?

– We take one match at a time and aim to win the first match, says Rasmus, laughing.

One of his teammates adds:

– We’re mainly here for the fun, of course, but it would be a bonus to win tickets to Scandinavia’s largest gaming festival, says Christian Anjemo.

The gaming festival Glitched is expected to become a central meeting place for gaming enthusiasts, professional players, and tech enthusiasts. A total of 20,000 visitors are expected to attend the festival.

Registration for ECEC is open until May 4. Learn more about the tournament and register here.
