ECEC Finals to Take Place at Glitched – Scandinavia’s New Gaming Festival
The European Corporate Esports Championship (ECEC), one of Europe’s most prestigious esports tournaments for businesses, is taking a bold step forward by partnering with Glitched – Scandinavia’s newest and largest gaming festival. The finals will be held live on June 14, 2025, at the Elmia Exhibition Center in Jönköping.
Over the past few years, ECEC has become a popular platform for both professional and amateur gamers. The tournament brings together participants from across Europe, where teams from various companies compete for the title of Europe’s Best Esports Company in Rocket League and Counter-Strike 2.
This year’s ECEC tournament will take place from May 19 to 23, with the initial matches being played online. The top teams will then travel to Jönköping to compete live in the finals at Glitched.
– We are incredibly proud to elevate ECEC to a new level through our collaboration with Glitched. Hosting the finals in such an inspiring environment will create a unique experience for both participants and spectators, says Emilia Bentzer, Project Manager for ECEC at Consid.
Glitched – One of Scandinavia’s Largest Esports and Gaming Events
The first edition of Glitched will take place from June 13 to 16, 2025, at the Elmia Exhibition Center in Jönköping – a venue with a rich history in esports. Elmia has previously hosted several legendary events, including the first-ever League of Legends World Championship in 2011, as well as one of the earliest major tournaments in the Counter-Strike series in 2013. By establishing Glitched at this iconic venue, the festival aims to modernize and revitalize LAN culture.
The event is backed by a group of DreamHack veterans, including Martin Öjes, founder of DreamHack, Christoffer Melin, former Head of Operations at DreamHack and Tomas Lyckedal, former Chief Strategy Officer at DreamHack.
– A lot has changed in esports and gaming in recent years. Unfortunately, the LAN concept has stagnated, and many gamers now have better setups at home than at LAN events. We want to change that by creating an experience where gamers genuinely want to be on-site, says Martin Öjes.
Glitched is expected to become a key meeting point for gaming enthusiasts, professional players, and tech innovators, with an estimated 20,000 attendees.
A New Era for Corporate Esports
The collaboration between ECEC and Glitched aims to add a new dimension to corporate esports. The tournament will provide businesses with a platform to engage employees through gaming, strengthen internal team culture, and network with other companies in a modern and dynamic environment.
– We look forward to welcoming Europe’s top corporate teams to Glitched, where they can compete in front of a live audience. Esports is rapidly growing in the business world, and this partnership builds a bridge between professional life and competitive gaming, says Tomas Lyckedal, co-founder of Glitched.
