Consid Welcomed 200 Children to Bring Your Child to Work Day

On Wednesday, Consid’s offices across Sweden were filled with both curiosity and inspiration as around 200 children joined their parents at work for this year’s Bring Your Child to Work Day. The popular initiative, first launched in 2018 and now a much-loved annual tradition during the autumn school break, takes place at all of the company’s more than 40 offices, from Luleå in the north to Malmö in the south.

The purpose of Bring Your Child to Work Day is to spark children’s interest in technology, digital creativity and entrepreneurship – but also to give them a chance to see what their parents actually do at work. For many employees, it’s a cherished opportunity to let family life and working life meet in a playful and positive way.

– There’s something truly special about showing your child your workplace and letting them be part of your everyday working life for a while. For the children, it’s exciting to visit our wonderful offices and discover what Mum or Dad does at work – and for us adults, it’s a reminder of why we love what we do, says Beatrice Carpvik, Head of Branding, Marketing & Communication at Consid.

Throughout the day, the children tried their hand at programming, built digital worlds in Minecraft, and took part in playful and creative tech-related activities. Shared lunches and office tours, where the children themselves got to experience what it’s like to work in the tech industry, were also highlights of the day.

– Bring Your Child to Work Day has become an incredibly important tradition that we truly value. We want to inspire the next generation when it comes to technology and open their eyes to what a future career in the field might look like – but also create a sense of togetherness here and now, among colleagues, families and our offices across the country, says Peter Hellgren, CEO of Consid.

The initiative is part of Consid’s broader social engagement and its efforts to strengthen interest in technology and innovation, as well as to contribute to a more sustainable and inclusive tech industry.
