An equal tech industry
The tech industry plays a key role in shaping the future. It influences how we communicate, work, consume and make decisions. If the teams developing technology do not reflect the diversity of society, there is a risk that the solutions created will be one-dimensional, exclusionary or, in the worst case, reinforce existing biases. That is why responsibility must always start from within.
A company that prioritises gender equality and inclusion within its own culture creates stronger conditions for innovation. Research consistently shows that diverse teams perform better, make more well-considered decisions and identify risks and opportunities more quickly. When different perspectives come together, more creative solutions emerge – something that is crucial in an industry defined by rapid change and intense competition.
Q Balance is our internal initiative to take responsibility and drive this work forward.
Consids internal work
The tech industry remains largely homogeneous and male-dominated. Like many other companies, we currently have a higher proportion of women in HR, finance and marketing than in developer roles. This is an imbalance we are actively working to change. We firmly believe that tech should be accessible to everyone, regardless of gender, ethnicity, disability, socio-economic background or religion. To help create a more representative industry, the work must begin internally. At Consid, we take a systematic approach to strengthening a culture characterised by openness, gender equality and inclusion.
Since the launch of Q by Consid, we have carried out long-term cultural initiatives aimed at creating a safe and respectful working environment for all employees. This includes internal lunchtime lectures at both national and local level, workshops, training initiatives and a clear zero-tolerance policy towards harassment and unfair treatment. This is not a one-off initiative, but a continuous and integral part of how we build our organisation, leadership and future.
