Consid’s annual hackathon

Considition is our yearly hackathon, taking place every autumn. Each year, participants are challenged to solve a sustainability-focused task using artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML). The theme and partnering organization vary from year to year. Whether you’re a first-year student or a senior developer, working in the private or public sector, based in Sweden or abroad – everyone is welcome. You can compete solo or in a team of two, and participate remotely or from one of Consid’s offices across Sweden. As a participant, you'll get access to introductory materials, articles, podcasts, and videos – everything you need to start developing your solution.

2025 focus: Smart grids for electric vehicle charging

This year’s challenge centers on sustainable electric vehicle charging, as Consid joins forces with the Swedish energy company Vattenfall AB. Participants will take on the role of grid strategists, using AI and ML to develop algorithms that improve EV charging in urban environments. The aim: maximize customer satisfaction, cost efficiency, and energy distribution capacity.

The challenge is built on PowerZone, a simulation game that replicates a city-wide EV charging network. Using real-world data from Vattenfall, participants will develop pattern recognition algorithms. An interactive map visualizes charging zones and customer movement, helping players understand the impact of each decision while enhancing the gaming experience.

Eight years of sustainable innovation

Considition is now in its eighth year, continuing its mission to drive sustainable change through innovation. Past partners include Budbee, triathlon brand IRONMAN, drone startup GLOBHE, Riksbyggen, and Coca-Cola.

In 2024, the spotlight was on the finance and lending market in collaboration with Ikano Bank.
