Stable and Future-Proof SAP Landscape at Folksam

Folksam enlisted Consid to strengthen its SAP team with expertise in lifecycle management and system architecture. Through this collaboration, Consid has helped create a stable, secure, and future-proof SAP system landscape that supports Folksam in its daily operations as well as in future technical decisions.

Folksam is one of Sweden’s largest insurance companies, offering a broad range of insurance and savings services. The company operates an extensive IT environment for both internal processes and customer-facing services, with a focus on ensuring stable operations, high security, and efficient management of its business systems.

Long-Term SAP Landscape Expertise

Since early 2025, Consid has supported Folksam’s internal SAP team within finance and payment systems in the role of SAP Landscape Architect. Two consultants from Consid provide expertise in SAP Basis and lifecycle management, serving as advisors and support throughout the entire lifecycle process, while coordinating work with Folksam’s internal teams and external service providers. The consultants also develop landscape plans, coordinate maintenance activities, and ensure that the system environment meets both business and regulatory requirements.

Lifecycle Planning and Technical Advisory for a Robust SAP Landscape

Consid has developed lifecycle plans for Folksam’s SAP system landscape, including an annual plan for maintenance activities covering SAP ERP, SRM, BW, Portal, PI, and CD/RI. These systems interact with several other internal systems, requiring careful planning and collaboration across teams. Together with Folksam and external operations teams, Consid participates in daily maintenance tasks such as incident management, current state and future analyses, and coordination of activities. The role also includes continuous monitoring of SAP Security Notes and planning necessary security updates within the landscape.
