The challenge
The relationship between Consid and Läxhjälpen goes back many years and includes close collaboration across several initiatives. Office space for Läxhjälpen’s staff, donated technology used for educational purposes and shared activities are just a few examples. During a dialogue about digital tools, an additional need emerged. Läxhjälpen needed to replace its existing system, Läxloggen, with a modern administrative platform that could support the organisation’s continued development.
Läxhjälpen is a foundation with around 400 tutors located across Sweden. Their mission is to support young people in schools that are below the national average in grades, helping them complete compulsory education and qualify for upper secondary school. The internal system, designed as a social intranet, needed to support more than information sharing. It also had to provide training material, progress reporting and time tracking, all in one place.
The ambition behind the Läxloggen 2.0 project was to create an administrative platform that would be sustainable over time and easy to manage. It also needed to allow Läxhjälpen to edit content and shape the system according to its evolving needs. Another key goal was to reduce internal administration so that more time could be spent supporting students rather than handling additional administrative work.
The solution
Sitevision was selected as the platform for the new system. As a CMS, it provided a strong foundation for further development and customisation. Thanks to close collaboration with Sitevision, Consid and Läxhjälpen were able to use development environments and the product freely during the build phase, as well as for the first three years of operation. This made it possible to complete the solution without exceeding time or budget constraints.
Security was a central consideration. A cloud-based solution was therefore chosen through Sitevision Cloud, offering a Swedish hosting environment that is both clustered and redundant. By investing in a solution designed for long-term management, the goal is for Läxhjälpen to take over further development of the platform when the organisation is ready. Until then, Consid has committed to managing and maintaining the platform on a monthly basis during the first three years.
– Despite a tight deadline and the scope of a comprehensive system, where going live before the end of the year was critical, this has been a very rewarding and positive project. Whenever challenges arose, we solved them together, says Andreas Persson at Consid.
The result
The result is a fast and user-friendly system where tutors can easily see when and where they are scheduled to work. This simplifies daily operations and supports the entire organisation. For management, the system significantly reduces administrative work while providing a clear overview of the business.
The project has delivered clear value. It has freed up time, reduced administrative effort and enabled a much smoother way of working. The platform now provides a solid foundation for adding new functionality over time. Before the project began, information was scattered across multiple tools. Today, everything is gathered in one secure and accessible place.
In the long term, the solution also benefits students. Improved structure and clarity contribute to higher quality teaching and make it possible to report on the real impact that tutors have on students’ progress.
– It has been incredibly rewarding to collaborate with Läxhjälpen, and I look forward to continuing the management of the platform. I am also proud to work at Consid, a company that takes responsibility and supports Läxhjälpen in helping young people succeed, says Andreas Persson at Consid.
Management and configuration now continue. Consid and Läxhjälpen meet on a monthly basis to review progress, address new needs and plan future improvements.
