A user-friendly Microsoft 365 environment
With the findings from the study in hand, the Consid team was able to identify needs and design the most effective solutions. Norrenergi’s intranet was configured in SharePoint Online, with a focus on both structure and design.
– A very important aspect that is unfortunately often overlooked when setting up intranets in SharePoint is the design, says Ann Svalling, Project Manager at Consid.
To avoid common pitfalls, Mia Johansson, UX Designer at Consid, and Gustaf Åhs, M365 Solution Architect at Consid, carefully reviewed the study and collaborated to create an intranet that is both user-friendly and accessibility-compliant.
At the same time, the Microsoft 365 environment was configured with a special focus on Teams. A structured setup and a new Teams portal were introduced as part of an ordering process, ensuring transparency and correct structure and permissions from the outset. OneDrive, Planner, and Whiteboard were also integrated to facilitate collaboration at all levels of the company. The aim was to move away from the use of traditional file servers towards a modern way of working with fit-for-purpose digital tools.
– A clear objective of this project has been to create as unified a way of working as possible. Consid has helped us maintain that focus and adapted their approach throughout the project – a challenge, as we have different conditions within Norrenergi, says Patrik Thomaeus, CFO at Norrenergi.
Training
Norrenergi’s employees also needed the right conditions to make use of the new internal environment and intranet. Role-based training sessions were therefore conducted for different user groups, including:
- Practical walkthroughs of how to create and manage teams, channels, and tabs
- Clarification of the differences between personal documents (OneDrive), shared work documents (Teams), and published content (intranet)
- Version control and real-time collaboration
- Use of Planner, Whiteboard, and OneNote
