Fanny Andersson

Taking on new challenges with a smile on her face - that's a bit of Fanny Andersson's signature. She is a positive and driven 28-year-old from the west coast, trained as a civil engineer in media technology, who today works as a Software Developer in the sustainability cluster at Volvo Cars via Consid. Here she gets to combine her interest in technology with the desire to make a difference - for real. Join us when we meet Fanny and hear more about her role at Consid.

It feels meaningful to be involved in contributing to a more sustainable society, while I get to work with exciting technology and problem solving.

A straight path with lots of learning

We meet Fanny at Consid’s Gothenburg office, located in the middle of Avenyn in a grand 19th century building. The premises breathe history, but at the same time there is a warm and welcoming feeling – with open spaces, cozy workrooms and the cordial living room with associated bistro as a gathering point. We sit down in one of the workrooms and start our conversation with Fanny.

When we meet Fanny, it quickly becomes clear that curiosity is one of her biggest driving forces. Her interest in technology has been with her for a long time, and after five years of studies at Linköping University, where she tried out everything from programming to UX design, the choice fell naturally on the role of consultant.

– During my studies, I realized how much fun it is to work with many different technologies and projects. As a consultant, I get to continue exploring new areas, which suits me perfectly, says Fanny.

The journey to Consid began with a student event at the office in Norrköping. A good impression, nice people and a clear culture of development became crucial.

Sustainable code for a sustainable future

Today, Fanny works at Volvo Cars, where she is part of a team developing applications linked to sustainability. The tools she builds help the business gather information about the contents of different car components – something that is crucial for the company’s environmental work.

– It feels meaningful to be involved in contributing to a more sustainable society, while working with exciting technology and problem solving, she says.

A team player with an eye for cooperation

Fanny’s colleagues describe her as cheerful, responsive and a real team player – she is simply a person who always contributes to a positive atmosphere in the team. Creating a positive team climate is important to her, and she makes sure to lift others up and contribute to an open climate of cooperation.

– The most important thing is that we are a team. That we work towards the same goal, help each other and recognize each other’s strengths. This makes the work more fun and the results better, she says.

Communication, responsiveness and openness are Fanny’s keys to delivering good results – both in projects and in collaborations.

Figure skating, code and potted plants

At the end of the day, Fanny likes to swap her keyboard for trainers or ice skates. In her spare time, she can be found in the figure skating rink, at the gym, or out for a long walk in nature. At home, her plants await – a growing collection that she tends with both care and pride. When she wants to really relax, she likes to sit down at the computer to play computer games.
