Greater Falsterbo in the running for the Swedish Design Awards with Consid-designed logo

Greater Falsterbo’s logo was created to bring together and strengthen the identity of the destination through a unified visual expression. Its inspiration comes from one of the area’s best-known landmarks – the iconic lighthouse.

“Behind a seemingly simple symbol lies a great deal of craftsmanship. Finding that one form that feels immediate, recognisable and timeless is one of the most challenging – and rewarding – things you can do,” says Lia Eriksson, Creative Director at Consid Communication, of the nominated design.

The lighthouse illustration in the logo serves as a symbol of guidance and is surrounded by an inclusive form. Together, the elements create a modern seal that gives Greater Falsterbo a cohesive visual identity.

The nomination comes as part of the Swedish Design Awards, a competition celebrating excellence in visual communication and design. For Greater Falsterbo and Consid Communication, the nomination means the identity is now competing in the Visual Identity – Logo category.

“There’s something incredibly satisfying about distilling a place and its identity into a single form. When the result feels both new and familiar at the same time, you know you’ve found something special. To then have that work recognised with a nomination is fantastic validation and something we’re all very proud of,” continues Lia Eriksson.

Voting is open until 13 September. The winners will be celebrated at the Swedish Design Awards ceremony in Stockholm in October.
