A decade of record growth: Consid named a Gazelle company for the tenth time.

The Daily Business Paper Dagens Industri has once again named Consid a "Gazelle company." This award is given to the fastest-growing companies in Sweden. It's the tenth time Consid has received this prestigious accolade, a feat achieved by only two other companies.

“The global economic downturn has been particularly challenging for many companies. Our strong growth during a time when many businesses are struggling to maintain profitability is a clear indication of Consid’s resilience,” says Peter Hellgren, founder and CEO of Consid. “While other companies have been downsizing, we have not only retained our staff but also hired hundreds of new employees.”

To be named a “Gazelle,” a company must meet several criteria, including annual revenue growth for the past three years, organic growth (not through acquisitions), and a positive cumulative operating result over the last four financial years. Furthermore, Dagens Industri assesses various parameters to gauge the overall health of the company. Less than one percent of Sweden’s limited companies meet the requirements to be designated as Gazelle companies.

The Gazelle award is an indication that a company has performed exceptionally well and is one of the fastest-growing companies in Sweden. It is a way to celebrate and encourage entrepreneurship in the country.

Only two other companies have received the award ten times.

“It’s fantastic evidence that we’ve managed to create a workplace with the right culture and philosophy, where every employee feels comfortable and is encouraged to engage and be entrepreneurial. Today, we have over 1,800 employees and have maintained such a high growth rate,” says Peter Hellgren.

In 2022 alone, Consid hired over 520 people and opened offices in Skövde, Södertälje, Trollhättan, Trelleborg, Ängelholm, Karlskoga, Alingsås, and Borlänge. Consid also established itself in Copenhagen to tap into the Danish IT market. The goal is to have more than 30 employees in Denmark by the end of 2023. The company expanded to Germany as well, starting in Hamburg and Flensburg.

In 2022, the revenue reached SEK 2.2 billion, with a growth rate of nearly 41 percent compared to the previous year and a profit of SEK 244 million. Consid is not publicly traded.

“I believe that part of the explanation for our success is that we always put the employee at the center and actively work to create a positive corporate culture. By prioritizing the well-being and professional development of our employees, we’ve managed to retain top talent, resulting in a dedicated and highly qualified workforce. Additionally, the healthy balance between public and private sector clients has provided stability and allowed for the transfer of best practices between sectors, contributing to the company’s positive growth and reputation,” says Peter Hellgren.
